I didn't bring my personal opinion into any of those bands; I'm mentioning the hard facts of musical innovation. The Beatles biggest accomplishment was allowing bands such as The Rolling Stones to attain a bigger audience. Most innovations tied with the Beatles were done before by other bands.

Hate was in a comment before yours ...and thats who my comment was for....VU was OK sometimes ....most of their stuff was a yawn...The Who was powerful but repeated a lot of the same ideas... The Beatles are the kings for a reason... what do you think that might be?

True. They were the most popular.

the first 30 seconds are SUPERNATURAL!! listen to the bass! it's fucking heavy and light at the same time! HOW DO YOU DO THAT?! Keith is the baddest beast of them all.

Mostly commercially.

'Hate' wasn't in my comment, now was it? They were decent tunesmiths, but not nearly as noteworthy as The Who or The Velvet Underground. |
